Aquitaine Boston

“From the street the golden glow is inviting to even the weariest of travelers and the moment you walk in the door you will feel transported to a modern Parisian bistro (where everyone magically speaks English). The servers move diligently like bees in their embroidered vests and perfectly ironed shirts and ties. The small bar bustles with laughter and anecdotes from friends and nostalgic neighbors. It’s shoulder to shoulder on a busy night but this just seems to make everyone that much more familiar with each other. When you step into the dining room the worker bees are at full attention taking orders, filling glasses, clearing tables & resetting linens. It’s a beautiful and silent piece of choreography. The spirits are vivacious and perfectly mixed. The wines are all hand picked from the expected French and California houses to smaller boutiques you’ll fall in love with. The dishes though traditional in nature are constantly being elevated to new levels using local farms contemporary techniques. Our kitchen seems to have it’s hand on the pulse of new and fresh ideas so fear not our vegetarian and gluten-free friends, this is a friendly  place.”

Grill 23

“In the early 80’s, I began developing Copley Place here in Boston with several partners from Chicago. We often found ourselves looking for a classic steakhouse—a place with food of the highest quality and superior service. Nothing like that existed at the time and we figured we couldn’t be the only people looking for that special dining experience. We opened a space in the old Salad Tea Building with the goal of making it one of the best restaurants in the city. Over the years we’ve made some changes—we only source premium natural meat, added a second floor with private dining rooms, and in March 2014 debuted our new bar. One thing remains the same: our gratitude to our fantastic chefs, dedicated staff, innovative purveyors, and especially our loyal customers.”

“The decor purposefully works to extenuate the space’s trumpeting 20-foot ceilings resulting in an environment that is chic, spacious and well lit, while at the same time intimate and unassuming like that of an upscale lounge.”

“Just like the achitecture associated with the surrounding neighborhoods; Brownstone is a classic, stylish but casually elegant bar & restaurant. Oleana

“Oleana opened in 2001 to rave reviews from the press and diners alike. It’s not surprising once you’ve tasted Ana Sortun’s outrageously inventive food, including chickpea crêpe with smoked cinnamon aioli, or lamb steak with Turkish spices & fava bean moussaka. Small producers comprise the wine list at Oleana and are carefully chosen to complement the style of spice.”

“But a meal at Oleana isn’t complete until you’ve tried one of pastry chef Maura Kilpatrick’s desserts. She is especially known for her homemade ice creams infused with an Eastern Mediterranean sensibility, such as cocoa-rose ice cream with a date-rose truffle, or salted butter ice cream with a pumpkin-brown butter crêpe.”

“Oleana’s award-winning patio with a fountain, herb garden and fig tree is the perfect place to spend a sultry summer evening. But winter nights in the dining room are pretty warm and welcoming too, with Turkish carpets on the wall, a homey fireplace and banquette seating.”

“There’s an open kitchen at Oleana, and it is tiny. But the flavors and creativity that emerge from it are as big as they come.”
